Bh2’s new charity partner for 2020 chosen
MyTime Young Carers has been named as Bh2 Leisure’s chosen charity for 2020. This is the first time that the centre has selected a charity to be a fundraising focus of the events that take place throughout the year. The Dorset based charity received the most votes on Bh2’s Facebook page over a 7 day period against two other Bournemouth charities. Followers also had the chance to vote for Julia’s House and The Dorset Children’s Foundation. Over 900 people voted for the 3 charities however MyTime Young Carers received the most. Krista Cartlidge from MyTime Young Carers charity said “We are absolutely delighted to have been chosen to be the Bh2 Leisure charity of the year. The young carers that we support are kind, caring, compassionate and used to putting their own needs last. At MYTime we are working hard to change that, to ensure they have the support and opportunity all children deserve. The money raised from the wonderful Bh2 Leisure community will help us fund our Making Memories Programme, this provides young carers with the opportunity to have fun filled days out and to take a well deserved rest from their caring responsibilities. Thank you so much to everyone who voted for us, as a small charity your support is absolutely invaluable.” Bryan Taylor, Bh2 Leisure’s Centre Manager said “It’s been great to see how many people have got involved in choosing between the 3 fantastic charities. We have some very exciting events planned for 2020 and we hope that everyone will join us to raise as much as possible to give time back to the young carers.” To stay up to date with the latest news and events taking place at Bh2 Leisure and the chance to help fund raise for MyTime Young Carers, follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
